Boone is an Assistant Professor of Finance at Mays Business School at Texas A&M University. His research explores information economics, institutional constraints, anomaly returns, and short-selling. He currently teaches in the MBA program at Mays.
Boone received his Ph.D in Finance from the University of North Carolina. He earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in economics and finance from Utah State University. He was also a credit analyst for a community bank where he worked closely with small business owners, real estate developers, farmers, and ranchers - with whom he enjoyed discussing cattle and horses.
Boone likes to read, exercise, and be with his wife and three young children. He enjoys coaching his son's baseball teams. He also rides horses whenever given the chance, which is typically in the summer in the mountains of southeastern Idaho.
