Boone is an Assistant Professor of Finance at Mays Business School at Texas A&M University. His research explores information economics, institutional constraints, anomaly returns, and short-selling. He teaches in the bachelor's of finance program, where he has taught FINC 381: Money & Capital Markets.
Boone received his Ph.D in Finance from the University of North Carolina. He earned B.S. and M.S. degrees in economics and finance from Utah State University. He was also a credit analyst for a community bank where he worked closely with small business owners, real estate developers, farmers, and ranchers - with whom he enjoyed discussing cattle and horses.
Boone likes to read, exercise, and be with his wife and three young children. He enjoys coaching his son's machine-pitch baseball team - they were 4-3-1 last season. He also rides horses whenever given the chance, which is typically in the summer in the mountains of southeastern Idaho.
